Danielle & Nathan

Danielle & Nathan

January 2026

God has truly been the centre of our lives & walking with him has brought blessing after blessing.

I know God brought us together. On Christian Connection, I had set a parameter of no more than 200km from where I lived in Brisbane, so potential partners appeared from the Sunshine Coast all the way down to the Gold Coast. However, one man popped up & there was something different about him. It was an instant attraction & his eyes had captured my attention. It was like I could see into his soul. When reading his profile, our upbringing, beliefs & values aligned. There was just one problem. He lived 2000km away in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia – somewhere I had never even been!

I had only been back in Brisbane for the past 8 months after teaching in Cooktown in Far North Queensland since the beginning of 2020. I just couldn't get this man off my mind. I usually waited to see who liked me on online dating sites. Then a thought came to mind: what if I put my address as being in Adelaide, South Australia? I changed my details & instantly saw his profile again! I sent a like & left it at that.

Within the hour, Nathan had liked me back & had sent me a message. We chatted back & forth & then exchanged phone numbers. Over the next 5 weeks, we messaged one another, spoke on the phone for hours each day & even video called, getting to know each other. I had fallen in love with an incredible man of God, who I hadn’t even met yet in person!

Nathan decided to go to a church conference in Brisbane, so we finally met & had our first date, spending the afternoon at Mount Tamborine. We attended my church, and then he headed back to South Australia on Sunday afternoon.

I was on leave from my teaching job, so I came down to the Adelaide Hills to housesit. We continued dating and found that everything in our lives aligned & we both knew we were meant for one another.

I prayed to God and said that if it was His plan for us to be together, He would open up a teaching job for me. I applied for a job at a local Christian School and was successful, so I packed up my belongings in Brisbane, fit as much as I could into my VW Golf & headed for the long drive to the Adelaide Hills with my boxer.

Fast-forward to September 2025, and Nathan got down on one knee at the Monarto Safari Park Resort and proposed to me. The lions in the park roared as I yelled 'Yes!'

So it is now only a few weeks until we tie the knot at The Brae Dawesley, and I'm beyond excited!!!
