Our first date was in May 2015. We enjoyed what we read on each other's profiles and since then had numerous telephone and Skype conversations. We couldn’t wait to meet in person! We had to agree on a halfway point due to the long distance between us. We chose Leeds to start with and then met in Manchester several times after which we loved! It was great getting to know each other whilst having fun at the same time! The conversation just kept on flowing and we really felt like we’d hit it off. By the end of the third date, we decided to make a go of it as a couple. We wondered how we’d cope with the distance, but God soon provided a way.
Simon had come to the end of his university degree and was looking for jobs back in my hometown. It wasn’t long before he secured a position and a place to live that was local to where I lived with my parents. We were delighted that we could continue to move forward with the early stages of our relationship. God made it possible for us and for that we are truly thankful. As time moved on, we continued to get to know each other more deeply and were keen to introduce each other to our respective families. I was quite excited, (though somewhat nervous) when visiting Simon’s family in his hometown of Northern Ireland. I had never been there before and really enjoyed the experience!
In June 2016, my best friend became my fiancé after he popped the question over an evening meal out. We finally tied the knot in December 2017, with our family and friends present for a joyous winter wedding! We had such an amazing day and felt truly lavished with love by the people around us. God was at the centre of it all and we look back at the day with many fond memories.
We want to thank Christian Connection, as without this site we wouldn’t have met. Our advice to others is to try and be open-minded in terms of searching further afield. God can open doors for you. You may feel discouraged at times if things aren’t working out initially, but keep on persevering and be patient. The Lord knows the desires of your heart. He will provide in accordance with His will and in His perfect timing.
