When Sharon and Trevor first connected on Christian Connection they were in different parts of the country. “We lived 100 miles from each other,” remembers Sharon. “We wouldn’t have met. We weren’t even in the same circles.” Trevor noticed Sharon’s profile first. He recalls the impression Sharon’s picture made on him: “Warm, loving, inviting. That’s the vibe that I got.” He made contact with a wave. For Sharon, Trevor’s profile was a pleasant surprise. “When I first saw his picture, something about it just made me feel like… this is home.”
After messages and long phone calls, they began to meet in person. Trevor remembers how his feelings grew and he became sure of their future together: “I knew that day, the first kiss – that sealed the deal. That was it. I’m gonna marry this girl.”
Their relationship developed, with a shared goal. “We kind of had our wedding planned before the proposal happened,” says Sharon, “because we knew we were getting married. Trevor took his time proposing, and it was getting so close, some of my friends joked that on the way down the aisle he might propose.”
“I knew he had the ring. So every time he’d come to visit me, I started to become like a detective. I’d hug him and pat him down at the same time. And I was like, ‘Is it today?’ ‘Is it today?’ ‘Is it today?’ And he kept telling me, You’re not going to know the day. I’m going to surprise you. And as I like to know everything that’s going on, he knew that was going to be difficult…”
